Today is a day to celebrate your oneness with nature. Slow down now and take time to see your world and to discover the flawlessness of living things. Walk into the woods and search for the perfect flower. Discover a forget-me-not and marvel at its faultless design, its sweet scent, its moist and divinely coloured petals. Hold it in your hand and experience the miracle. Slowly allow your attention to return to the field surrounding you. Do you see it? Another lovely flower growing there just to the left of the path...a small wild iris, purple and white with velvet green leaves that feel like satin in your hands. Perfection twice within a few moments and you have hardly begun to look! It won't take long for you to discover the truth...every flower in the field is impeccable. You may have a preference depending upon colour, scent, size or design. Focus your attention upon another aspect of nature. Do you hear the brook near the forest edge? Go there and begin to gather stones. Look for the most exquisite rock - the one you would like to keep just as a memory of this day.

You find a small smooth pebble, spotted in shades of grey, white and ebony. This one is it! Before you can experience the feeling of having completed the task, you notice another small stone - rusty-green in colour with tiny specks of flashing gold. Surely this is more beautiful than the first. You place both in the palm of your hand and note after long moments of contemplation that each is beautiful, neither is better, only different. Lay back in the sweet scented grass and look up into the blue sky. The leaves overhead filter the light and you are cool in the protective shadows. First you notice the sound...a chirping song so beautiful that your eyes cannot find the source. You see it now! A tiny brown and red speckled bird, its feathers smooth and sleek, its beak black shining. He sings his heart out as if saluting the sun. There is a peace that comes with this discovery and you close your eyes a moment to rest and enjoy his song. When you wake, you detect what at first looks like a blemish in the perfect sky...a hawk circling above in search of dinner.

You marvel at this powerful creature and glance into the branches to see if your small bird is still there. He is. Perfection is duplicated everywhere in nature and this new awareness fills you with calm. My sweet one, step outside of yourself and float up to join your small bird in the branches of that tree. Observe yourself lying quietly underneath. Someone is coming along the path. She moves closer and sits down beside you on the ground. You smile and experience a profound awareness. She is perfect and different from you. You are perfect and you remember a whole new truth.
